I’ve finally managed to get all my pics from Turkey up onto Flickr & nearly onto fazbook.
I spent 10 days in Turkey all together, starting in Istanbul and ending in Kalkan.
Istanbul is a beautiful city, well at least from the 36 hours I spent in the tourist area (the old city) – the area where the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia is. Lot’s of friendly people who seemed pretty keen for a chat on the street.
I’d imagined the Grand Bazaar to be more like a scene out of Aladdin (but i think that is more Saudi Arabia right?) , but it was very clean, and enormous.
From Istanbul Lisa & I headed south by overnight bus to Selcuk – the home of the ancient city of Ephesus. WOW! An amazing place to see. It must have been amazing back in it’s day.
The next part of the trip was from Selcuk to Kalkan to meet up with the rest of the gang and do some serious chillin’. 🙂
Apart from a hilarious jeep ‘safari’ trip to a gorge and a trout farm, most of the week was one big relaxo time. We had a pool so the more Xtreme of us bombed off our apartment into that, and spent the rest of the days drinking Efes beer!
U London lot thankyou thankyou thankyou for an awesome week! Let’s do this again soon!
I hope your Fezs / Fii are getting you props back home!
